Why Choose Our Service?

Stress-Free Mobile Visits vs. Traditional Practices

See why pet owners across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire prefer our dedicated travel service over conventional vet clinics.

Traditional Vet Practice

Standard clinic appointment

  • High Anxiety for Pets: Traveling in cars and sitting in busy waiting rooms surrounded by sick animals causes severe stress for dogs and cats.
  • Inconvenient Scheduling: Rigid daytime clinic hours that often force you to take time off work.
  • Hidden Administrative Delays: Non-specialist reception staff unfamiliar with complex DEFRA rules can lead to errors and repeated visits.

Pet Owner Travel Knowledge

Essential AHC & EU Regulations Guide

Post-Brexit pet travel rules can be complex. Here is everything you need to know.

Are UK Pet Passports Still Valid for Europe?

Since Brexit (1 January 2021), UK-issued Pet Passports are no longer valid for travel into the EU or Northern Ireland. UK pet owners must now obtain an Animal Health Certificate for pets issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV) for every trip.

10-Day Entry Window The certificate must be issued within 10 days of your entry date into the EU/NI.
6-Month EU Travel Validity Valid for 6 months of ongoing travel within the EU from the date of issue or until rabies vaccine expiry.

Before your appointment

Supporting Documents

We need reliable evidence of your pet’s identity and rabies vaccination history before an Animal Health Certificate can be issued. Please send clear copies of the relevant documents to ahc4pets@gmail.com, or ask your veterinary practice to send the records directly to us.

1. Veterinary clinical history

Your veterinary practice’s clinical record is often the simplest way to confirm your pet’s identity and rabies vaccination history.

It should link your pet to its microchip and show the relevant rabies vaccination details, including:

  • microchip number
  • date of vaccination
  • vaccine manufacturer and product name
  • batch number
  • date the vaccination is valid from
  • date the vaccination is valid until
  • veterinary practice details and veterinary certification

Please ask your veterinary practice to confirm that the microchip was scanned before or at the time of the rabies vaccination. The clinical record should be sent directly to us by your veterinary practice via email.

2. Rabies vaccination certificate

A rabies vaccination certificate can be used when it clearly identifies the owner and pet and records the required microchip and vaccination details.

The certificate should include the relevant vaccination information, validity dates, veterinary practice details and appropriate veterinary certification.

3. Previously issued Animal Health Certificate

A previously issued Animal Health Certificate can help us verify information already recorded for your pet, provided the relevant details and rabies vaccination remain current.

However, a previous AHC cannot be reused as the travel certificate for a separate journey from Great Britain to the EU. A new AHC is required for each separate GB-to-EU trip.

4. Vet Declaration Form

A vet declaration form can be used as an alternative way for your veterinary practice to confirm the required microchip and rabies vaccination information.

The form should be completed, dated and certified by the vet and should include the veterinary practice details and the vet’s signature.

5. Pet passport — special circumstances

If you live in England, Scotland or Wales, you cannot use a pet passport to enter the EU from Great Britain, even if it was issued in an EU country. You should obtain an Animal Health Certificate for travel from Great Britain to the EU.

A valid EU pet passport may still be relevant for certain return journeys to Great Britain, depending on where it was issued and the circumstances of the journey.

If you are unsure which document applies to your journey, please contact us by email before booking.

Important: These are supporting documents that may be used to verify your pet’s identity, microchip and rabies vaccination history. We will review the documents before confirming your appointment. Rules can change, so please check the latest official GOV.UK pet travel guidance before travelling.
